Electronic repair workshop with The Bower

Join us on the opening weekend of Amongst the Clouds for a hands-on, drop-in workshop led by an expert technician from The Bower Reuse and Repair Centre.
The growing right-to-repair movement insists on consumers’ ability to fix their own appliances and devices or access independent repair services—calling for greater transparency from large manufactures, and pushing against the planned obsolescence built into many of today’s electronic products. These small acts of repair can also offer a sustainable solution to accumulating e-waste, allowing us to rediscover the material components of our daily electrical tools.
To participate in this workshop, please bring along a small household electrical item in need of repair, such as:
Lamps – Plug replacements, faulty switches, or wiring issues
Blenders & Food Processors – Faulty leads, noisy bearings, faulty switches, dull blades
Toasters & Toaster Ovens – Faulty leads and faulty timers
Irons - Faulty leads
Vacuum Cleaners – Faulty leads and motor issues
