JD Reforma

JD Reforma is an artist, curator and writer with over 15 years of experience working across the visual arts sector. He is currently Curator and Artist Development at Parramatta Artists Studios, where he works across commissioning projects, exhibitions, publications and artist development programs.

He has been commissioned for major projects and exhibitions at the Art Gallery of New South Wales, the Art Gallery of South Australia, the Australian Centre for Contemporary Art, Campbelltown Arts Centre, Casula Powerhouse and Cement Fondu; and his work has been included in major prizes including the 2013, 2018, and 2019 NSW Visual Arts Fellowship (Emerging), the Blake Prize, the John Fries Art Award, and most recently the 2023 Ramsay Art Prize. His work has been extensively profiled by The Guardian, The Saturday Paper, Broadsheet Sydney, Art Collector Magazine, Artlink, RUSSH Magazine, Running Dog and Runway Journal; and he has contributed to publications including Queenie Bon Bon’s The Body Is Its Own Language and Angelica Mesiti’s A Communion of Stranger Gestures. He was a Waverley Artists Studios resident in 2023, a City of Sydney Live/Work Space Artist in 2020, a Resident Artist at The Clothing Store in 2019, Carriageworks and a recipient of the 2018 4A Beijing Studio, 4A Centre for Contemporary Asian Art.

He has previously held professional positions at Artspace, Minerva, the Biennale of Sydney, UTS Gallery & Art Collection and Firstdraft; and served on multiple boards since 2014, including Firstdraft, the Cultural and Creative Sector Advisory Panel, City of Sydney and most recently the Board of Directors of Art Month Sydney.
