Tina Havelock Stevens
Tina Havelock Stevens, (she/her) lives and works on the lands of the Gadigal people of the Eora Nation. Havelock Stevens’ multidisciplinary art practice animates an experience of the world that is inquiring and explores the ambiguities of human nature, attuning to the rhythm and movement of the psyche and structures and environments that we inhabit and traverse. Present in her works is an innate aural and visual intuition. Whether a gallery exhibition, immersive audio-visual installation, or improvised performance, she prompts viewers to connect with place, time, and each other.
Recent major projects include the solo exhibition Now is a Beginning, Bathurst Regional Gallery, 2025; the acclaimed sound and light installation SONIC LUMINESCENCE, Pedestrian Link, Metro Martin Place, Sydney, 2024; Hear Here, a permanent sound installation for the Sydney Football Stadium, 2022; the largescale audio-visual installation Thank You for Holding, Carriageworks for Sydney Festival, 2021; NATURE EXTEMPORIZE, a survey show at The Substation, Melbourne, 2021; THUNDERHEAD, a solo show at Perth Institute of Contemporary Art for Perth Festival, 2020; and Hasta La Bella Vista Baby, commissioned for C3West on behalf of the Museum of Contemporary Art Australia, 2019. Additionally, she has exhibited and performed at National Art School, 2023; Bundanon Art Museum, 2022; Yokohama Triennale, Japan, 2020; Gertrude Contemporary, Melbourne, 2020; MONA FOMA, Hobart, 2020 and 2013; The National 4: Australian Art Now, MCA, Sydney, 2019; Manila Biennale, 2018; Mill 6 Chat Foundation, Hong Kong, 2016; Performance Space, Sydney, 2023 and 2015; and Bulletspace, New York, 2014.
